The interface included in the set is the current B version with DOIP (Diagnostics over IP) support . This also covers the newer vehicle platforms of the Volkswagen Group, which rely on Ethernet-based communication protocols. Vehicles of more recent model years can no longer be fully diagnosed without DOIP, as flashing processes, guided diagnostics, or control unit initialization would otherwise be aborted or not even start.
