Are the Autel devices new?

Yes. You receive new, original Autel devices – no used or demo units. We usually ship diagnostic systems with the latest software already installed, ready to use straight away.

How long do I receive free software updates?

That depends on the series and version and is stated on every product page. For models with a choice of version, the international version includes 1 year and the EU version 2 years of free software updates. Some devices, such as the MaxiDiag MD906 Pro or the MaxiIM KM100 key programmer, even receive unlimited free updates.

What is the difference between the EU version and the international version?

The EU version includes 2 years of free software updates instead of 1. In addition, the EU SGW package can be activated for the EU version – the Secure Gateway unlock for protected control units, for example on VW or Mercedes-Benz vehicles. If you regularly work on such vehicles, the EU version is the right choice. You select the version directly on the product page.

What happens when the update period ends?

Your device remains fully functional with the last installed software version – diagnostics and service functions continue to be available without restriction. If you want new vehicle models and functions, you can optionally extend the updates by 12 months with an Autel update license, available in our Autel Update Licenses category.
