SGW Unlocks

The Security Gateway is a security component in modern vehicles: it controls all access to the CAN network and blocks write operations by diagnostic devices until authentication has taken place. Without an unlock, many functions are blocked on affected vehicles – such as clearing fault codes, service resets or actuator tests.

The Autel SGW package EU covers the VW Group, Stellantis (FCA/PSA), Mercedes-Benz and Nissan, each with 1 year of unlimited unlocks, plus 10 unlocks for Renault/Dacia. Unlocks for Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Renault are also available individually as token packages with 10 or 20 unlocks – each unlock uses one token, and unused tokens expire after one year.

You need an official Autel device from the official EU distribution channel with a valid software update license. Supported are the MaxiCheck MX900, MaxiDAS DS900, MaxiSys MS906 Pro, MS909, MS919 and MS Ultra (incl. S2) series. Devices from online marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon cannot be unlocked. If in doubt, give us the model and serial number – we will check before you buy.

You enter the serial number of your device when ordering. The unlock is registered for this serial number and you receive the confirmation by email – nothing is sent by parcel. Secure Gateway authentication on the vehicle is then carried out directly from the Autel diagnostic device.

No, it is not mandatory: the SGW unlock is not an update license, and your device remains fully functional without it. It is only needed if you want to carry out unrestricted diagnostics and service functions on vehicles with an active Security Gateway. As digital goods, unlocks are excluded from the right of withdrawal. Purchase on account is possible via Klarna or PayPal.
