What is Autodata and what do you need it for?
After the fault diagnosis, the real work begins: the repair. That is exactly where Autodata comes in. For thousands of vehicle models, the software provides the information that otherwise has to be painstakingly gathered in everyday workshop life – repair instructions, wiring diagrams, tightening torques, fill capacities, service schedules, timing belt replacement intervals and adjustment data. Autodata is therefore the ideal complement to any diagnostic tool: the diagnostic tool tells you what is faulty – Autodata shows you how to repair it properly.
How much does Autodata cost?
Autodata is offered as an annual licence. The price depends on the module scope and the number of users. Our current prices (incl. VAT):
- Autodata Service Information (inspection & maintenance): 1 user – 1.139,05 €, 2 users – 1.329,05 €, 5 users – 1.614,05 €
- Autodata full access (vehicle data & OEM repair information): 1 user – 1.709,05 €, 2 users – 1.994,05 €, 5 users – 2.469,05 €
Calculated per month, that equals roughly €95 to €206 depending on the package (annual price divided by twelve) – Autodata is, however, billed as an annual licence, not monthly.
If you want to get to know Autodata first, you do not have to buy an annual licence straight away: with the Autodata demo you can test the access for 30 days for 9,99 € – with no automatic renewal.
Autodata for private individuals – is that possible?
The short answer: no. Autodata is aimed at companies and commercial users – workshops, fleets, assessors and dealers. We therefore sell the licences in our shop exclusively to commercial customers. Hobby mechanics looking for maintenance data for their own vehicle are usually better served by a universal diagnostic tool, which already includes the most important service functions and target values for the vehicle in question.
Autodata login: where do I sign in?
Autodata runs entirely in the browser – no software installation is required. You sign in via your Autodata customer account with the credentials you receive after licence activation. Good to know: we are a specialist dealer for Autodata licences – the login itself takes place directly with Autodata. If you have questions about the setup, we are happy to help by phone: 0711-3654 4645.
Which Autodata alternatives are there?
The best-known alternative is HaynesPro WorkshopData – likewise a multi-manufacturer workshop database with service schedules, adjustment data, labour times and guided electronics diagnosis including wiring diagrams. Two points distinguish the systems in practice:
- Integration into the diagnostic tool: HaynesPro is available as a device-bound licence directly for Autel MaxiSys diagnostic tools – the repair data then appears right where the fault code is shown. Autodata runs separately in the browser.
- Price: with us, HaynesPro licences start well below the Autodata annual prices – all variants in the HaynesPro workshop data category, and a detailed comparison of the packages in the article HaynesPro: Electronics, Smart and Tech compared.
Which system suits you better depends on your workflow: if you want OEM-level repair information and wiring diagrams in the browser, Autodata is a good choice. If you want the data directly on the diagnostic tool, go for HaynesPro.
Conclusion: test first, then decide
Autodata is one of the established workshop databases and saves a lot of searching in everyday work.
