What is OBDeleven – and who is it worth it for?
OBDeleven is the counterpart to the classic workshop tablet: a thumb-sized dongle for the OBD2 port that connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The app handles the entire operation – from the control unit scan through live data to coding. Officially licensed for the Volkswagen Group, BMW Group and Toyota, the system is especially popular with VAG drivers: there, access reaches deep into the control units, including real-time SFD unlocking for the latest vehicle platforms.
Typical users are technically minded car owners who want to understand and customise their own vehicle – and workshops looking for a mobile second device for VAG vehicles alongside the big diagnostic tester.
NextGen, PRO or Ultimate – the honest comparison
OBDeleven NextGen device (119 €): the entry point
The NextGen device on its own already handles the complete control unit scan, reading and clearing fault codes, live data, battery monitoring and diagnostic reports by e-mail. The hardware is identical to the larger packages (Bluetooth BLE 4.2, protocols KKL, CAN and CAN-UDS) – if you want more later, you simply add a plan.
OBDeleven PRO Pack (179 €): coding for beginners
The PRO Pack includes a 12-month PRO licence. This adds long coding, adaptation channels, basic settings and freeze-frame analysis – the tools for activating comfort functions and changing control unit settings. Which coding is possible on which car always depends on the model and control unit.
OBDeleven Ultimate Pack (219 €): everything unlocked
The Ultimate Pack contains a 12-month Ultimate licence with unlimited One-Click-Apps: ready-made adjustments such as service reset, battery registration, comfort indicators or mirror folding run at the touch of a button, without manual coding. It also includes SFD unlocking for current VAG models, a carrying case and a smartphone holder.
Ultimate with 3-year licence (439 €): for heavy users
If you code regularly, the Ultimate Pack with 3-year licence works out cheaper than renewing every year. Also on board: the OCA-Builder for creating your own One-Click-Apps and the RAW data view for detailed analyses.
OBDeleven or a classic diagnostic tool?
The smartphone solution plays to its strengths on your own vehicle and in the VAG world. An independent workshop that diagnoses many makes every day additionally needs a fully fledged multi-brand device with a large display and workshop functions – for that we carry the Autel diagnostic tablets. Frequently asked questions
Does OBDeleven work with the iPhone?
Yes. The app is available for iOS, Android and Huawei; the Ultimate package states Android 8.0 or iOS 16.6 as the minimum requirement.
Can OBDeleven open the SFD lock on new VW/Audi models?
Yes – OBDeleven was the first third-party tool with real-time SFD unlocking. The function is part of the Ultimate plans (plan-dependent with PRO) and only applies to VAG vehicles.
Does OBDeleven also work on Mercedes, Ford or Opel?

What happens when the plan term expires?
The device remains fully usable for diagnostic functions; the plan features (coding, One-Click-Apps) can be reactivated by renewing.
Can I return an activated licence?
The device yes – the licence no longer, once it has been activated and linked to the vehicle. It is a digital product and therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal; this is stated transparently on every package.
