Description
AUTOOL HTS558 walnut blasting machine for professional engine decarbonisation
- ✔ Rugged workshop quality for daily use on modern petrol engines
- ✔ Effective removal of carbon deposits on intake valves
- ✔ Combined blasting and extraction system for clean working
- ✔ Gentle cleaning thanks to a precise walnut blasting process
- ✔ Developed for professional workshop use and engine reconditioning
The AUTOOL HTS558 walnut blasting machine was developed specifically for the professional cleaning of intake ports and intake valves. On modern direct-injection engines in particular, heavy carbon deposits build up over time which can restrict the airflow and reduce engine performance.
The controlled walnut blasting process removes carbon build-up while protecting the material. The system combines compressed-air technology with integrated extraction and is ideal for workshops that carry out engine decarbonisation on a regular basis.
Efficient removal of carbon deposits
The walnut granulate is blasted onto the soiled intake valves in a targeted way using compressed air. The fine granules reliably loosen hard deposits without damaging sensitive metal surfaces.
This improves the airflow in the intake tract, which can have a positive effect on engine running, throttle response and combustion behaviour.
Integrated blasting and extraction system
The AUTOOL HTS558 works with a closed cleaning system. During blasting, loosened residues and excess walnut granulate are extracted and filtered directly.
This reduces dust in the working area and allows part of the blasting medium to be reused.
Workshop-grade construction for daily use
The unit was developed for professional workshop environments. Robust connections, sturdy workmanship and durable components ensure reliable use even with frequent application.
The stable compressed-air supply provides an even blasting pattern and supports controlled cleaning of heavily carbonised intake systems.
Why high-quality blasting technology matters
Imprecise budget systems can lead to uneven material feed or unstable air pressure. This reduces the cleaning effect and clearly increases the workload.
Thanks to its carefully matched design, the AUTOOL HTS558 provides a constant walnut granulate feed and a controlled blasting performance.
Suitable for modern direct-injection engines
Petrol engines with direct injection in particular tend to develop heavy deposits in the intake tract. Since fuel is no longer routed across the intake valves, the natural cleaning effect of the petrol is missing.
Oil mist and combustion residues therefore build up on the valves and can cause performance problems in the long term.
Gentle cleaning of sensitive engine components
Walnut granulate has an ideal material hardness for engine cleaning. It removes carbon deposits effectively without attacking aluminium, valve seats or other sensitive components.
This makes the process particularly suitable for modern engines with sensitive intake systems.

Frequently asked questions
What does a walnut-shell blasting machine do?
What does a walnut-shell blasting machine do?
It mechanically removes carbon deposits in the intake tract. Coking occurs particularly on direct-injection engines because no fuel washes over the intake valves there. The granulate removes the deposits without damaging the metal underneath.
Is walnut-shell granulate included in the delivery?
Is walnut-shell granulate included in the delivery?
No. The granulate must be purchased separately. A grain size of 0.4 to 0.8 mm is recommended, and the recommended quantity is 2 to 4 kg.
Do I need a compressor?
Do I need a compressor?
Yes. The device requires an external compressed-air supply of more than 0.7 MPa, i.e. around 7 bar. It has no built-in air source of its own.
How long does the cleaning take?
How long does the cleaning take?
About one to three minutes per valve. The integrated extraction with recovery collects the spent granulate directly.
Does the device replace a diagnosis?
Does the device replace a diagnosis?
No. The HTS558 is used solely for the mechanical removal of carbon deposits. It is neither a diagnostic device nor an engine tester.
