Description
Description
BMW 10 Pin OBD1 to OBD2 adapter cable for motorcycle diagnostics
- ✔ Precisely fitting adapter from the round 10-pin BMW diagnostic port to 16-pin OBD2
- ✔ For BMW motorcycles with a manufacturer-specific round connector under the seat or behind a panel
- ✔ Stable signal transfer for reliable diagnostic work
- ✔ Sturdy contacts to minimise connection faults
- ✔ Equally suitable for the workshop and the home mechanic
The adapter cable connects the round 10-pin BMW motorcycle diagnostic port to the standard 16-pin OBD2 socket of your diagnostic device. Standard OBD2 diagnostic devices and motorcycle diagnostic software can therefore be connected even though the motorcycle has no standard OBD2 socket.
This item is an adapter or connecting cable, not a diagnostic device or scanner. The actual diagnostic function depends on the diagnostic device used and the scope of its software.
Why BMW motorcycles need an adapter
On BMW motorcycles the diagnostic port usually sits under the seat or behind a side panel and takes the form of a round 10-pin connector – not a flat 16-pin OBD2 socket. A standard OBD2 plug does not fit there. The adapter cable creates the physical link so the diagnostic hardware can communicate with the motorcycle.
Clean signal transfer for reliable diagnostic data
In diagnostic work the quality of the plug connection decides whether communication stays stable. Low-quality adapters cause dropped signals and communication errors. This adapter cable is built with solid plug contacts and a robust cable structure.
Robust build for workshop and everyday use
- Hard-wearing cable sheath
- Precisely manufactured plug connections
- Firm fit without unnecessary play
- High contact quality to avoid transfer errors
Compatibility
The adapter cable suits BMW motorcycles with a round 10-pin diagnostic port and diagnostic devices with a 16-pin OBD2 connection. Before buying, please compare the shape of the connector on your motorcycle with the product details.
- Vehicle side: round 10-pin BMW motorcycle diagnostic connector
- Tool side: 16-pin OBD2 socket
- Suitable for: OBD2 handheld scanners, motorcycle diagnostic devices, USB and Bluetooth diagnostic interfaces
Compatibility depends on the vehicle and on the diagnostic device. Before buying, please check whether your vehicle has the corresponding diagnostic port and whether your diagnostic device supports the relevant control units.
Important note on function
The adapter cable itself performs no diagnostics. Functions such as reading fault codes, communicating with control units or analysing data are provided exclusively by the connected diagnostic device and its software.
