The Caterpillar diagnostic tool is the professional solution for fault finding, parameter setting and ECU programming on Cat construction machines and engines. It runs Cat ET (Caterpillar Electronic Technician), the manufacturer’s own diagnostic software. The system is built for daily workshop and job-site use and reaches deep into machine- and ECU-dependent systems.

The system is supplied on a rugged Getac S410 in an overhauled and tested condition. The computer is set up and ready to use immediately.

• Excavators: crawler and wheeled excavators of the 300 series, including 320, 323, 330, 336 and 349
• Wheel loaders: wheel loaders of the 900 series, including 950, 966, 972 and 980
• Track-type tractors: track-type tractors of the D series, including D3, D4, D5, D6 and D8
• Motor graders: motor graders of the 120, 140 and 160 series
• Articulated trucks: articulated dump trucks of the 725, 730 and 740 series

The statement “up to model year 2026” describes the overall period the system can cover across all supported series – it does not mean that every machine and every function is automatically supported in full up to 2026. Which functions are actually available always depends on the machine, series, model year and ECU.

Professional diagnostics on Cat machines

Cat ET communicates with the machine’s control units via CAT Data Link (CDL) as well as J1939 CAN and J1708. This narrows down faults faster and allows targeted repairs instead of replacing parts on suspicion.

The Getac S410 combines a large 14-inch display with a rugged housing and is therefore built for tough workshop use.

The computer is overhauled and supplied with a 12-month warranty. Depending on condition and use, the battery runtime is at least approx. 2 hours. The battery is a wear part and is not covered by the warranty.

More scope than universal diagnostic tools

On Cat machines, universal diagnostic tools usually only read generic fault codes. The manufacturer software Cat ET, by contrast, offers parameter setting, calibrations, tests and ECU programming – exactly the work that makes the difference in day-to-day service.
