Description
Description
Harley-Davidson 4 Pin OBD1 to OBD2 adapter cable for motorcycle diagnostics
- ✔ Precisely fitting 4-pin to 16-pin OBD2 adapter for Harley-Davidson motorcycles
- ✔ Stable signal transfer for reliable diagnostic work
- ✔ Sturdy plug connections for daily workshop use
- ✔ Hard-wearing cable sheath for frequent plugging and unplugging
- ✔ Equally suitable for workshops and private users
The Harley-Davidson adapter cable connects the 4-pin Harley-Davidson diagnostic connector to the standard 16-pin OBD2 socket. Existing OBD2 diagnostic devices, workshop interfaces and Bluetooth adapters can therefore continue to be used on the motorcycle without a special solution.
This item is an adapter or connecting cable, not a diagnostic device or scanner. The actual diagnostic function depends on the diagnostic device used and the scope of its software.
Harley-Davidson 4 Pin or 6 Pin – which cable fits?
Depending on the machine, Harley-Davidson uses different diagnostic connectors. There are motorcycles with a 4-pin and motorcycles with a 6-pin diagnostic port. The two are not mechanically compatible – a 4-pin cable does not fit a 6-pin socket and vice versa.
This cable is the 4-pin version. If the diagnostic connector on your motorcycle has six contacts, you need our Harley-Davidson 6 Pin adapter cable instead.
If in doubt, simply count the contacts in the socket on the vehicle – that is the safest way to the right version.
Clean signal transfer for reliable diagnostic data
In motorcycle diagnostics every clean connection counts. Low-quality adapters can cause dropped signals, communication errors or unstable links to the control unit.
This adapter cable therefore uses precisely manufactured plug contacts and a stable cable structure. Its firm fit on the vehicle connector keeps the link stable even during longer diagnostic sessions.
Compatibility
The adapter cable is intended for motorcycles with a manufacturer-specific 4-pin Harley-Davidson diagnostic port.
- Vehicle side: 4-pin Harley-Davidson
- Tool side: 16-pin OBD2 socket
- Suitable for: OBD2 handheld scanners, workshop diagnostic devices, USB and Bluetooth diagnostic interfaces
Compatibility depends on the diagnostic connector actually fitted to the motorcycle as well as on the diagnostic device used and its software. Before buying, please check which port your vehicle has and whether your diagnostic device supports motorcycles.
Robust build for workshop and everyday use
The cable was developed for regular use. The hard-wearing outer sheath protects the wires during frequent connecting and disconnecting.
- Hard-wearing cable sheath
- Precisely manufactured plug connections
- Firm fit without unnecessary play
- High contact quality to avoid transfer errors
Important note on function
The adapter cable itself performs no diagnostics. It serves solely as the link between the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and compatible diagnostic hardware. Which functions are available – reading fault codes, showing live data or communicating with control units – depends solely on the diagnostic device used and its software.

Frequently asked questions
What do I need this Harley-Davidson adapter cable for?
What do I need this Harley-Davidson adapter cable for?
Harley-Davidson motorcycles have no standard 16-pin OBD2 socket but a manufacturer-specific diagnostic port. The adapter cable creates the link to a standard OBD2 diagnostic device.
Does every OBD2 device work with it?
Does every OBD2 device work with it?
The adapter creates the physical link. Whether your device can also read the motorcycle’s control units depends on the diagnostic device and its software. Not every OBD2 system supports motorcycles. Please check before buying.
I have the choice between 4 pin and 6 pin – what is the difference?
I have the choice between 4 pin and 6 pin – what is the difference?
The difference lies solely in the diagnostic connector on the motorcycle. Depending on the machine, Harley-Davidson fits a 4-pin or a 6-pin port. The two connector types do not fit into each other. This cable is the 4-pin version. Count the contacts in the socket on your motorcycle and you will pick the right version with certainty.
Is the cable itself a diagnostic device?
Is the cable itself a diagnostic device?
No. It is an adapter or connecting cable and not a diagnostic device or scanner. It performs no diagnostics itself – which functions are available depends solely on the diagnostic device used and the scope of its software.
