Description

AC manifold gauge set for R134a – check, evacuate, charge

  • Two gauges: low pressure (blue) and high pressure (red), clearly readable scales
  • ✔ Manifold block with sight glass and two shut-off valves
  • Three hoses of 1.5 m in blue, yellow and red – 600 PSI working pressure, 3,000 PSI burst pressure
  • Quick couplers for high and low pressure service ports on R134a systems
  • ✔ Brass fittings, sturdy build for everyday workshop use
  • ✔ Everything in a carry case with insert – nothing lies around loose

The manifold gauge set is the basic tool for any work on a vehicle air conditioning system. You use it to measure high and low pressure while the system runs, to spot undercharge, overcharge and compressor problems, and to connect the system to a vacuum pump or refrigerant cylinder.

What you need the set for

  • Pressure check: read high and low pressure while running and compare with the target values
  • Pulling a vacuum: yellow hose to the vacuum pump, dry the system and check it for leaks
  • Charging: yellow hose to the refrigerant cylinder, meter the quantity through the valves
  • Fault finding: the sight glass shows bubbles – a clear sign of too little refrigerant

Layout

The manifold block carries both gauges and two hand valves. On the left is the low pressure port (blue), on the right the high pressure port (red), in the middle the service port (yellow) for pump or cylinder. The hanging hook lets you hang the set in the engine bay and keep both hands free.

Please note: the set is designed for systems with R134a. R1234yf needs different couplers and a separate service unit, because the refrigerants must not be mixed.

Important note on certification

Work on air conditioning systems with fluorinated refrigerants requires a certificate of competence (EU Regulation 517/2014). Refrigerant must not be released into the atmosphere. This tool is intended for specialist businesses and certified users.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need a manifold gauge set for?

It is the basic tool at the air conditioning system. You measure high and low pressure while the system runs and spot undercharge, overcharge and compressor problems. Through the middle port you also connect the vacuum pump for evacuating or the refrigerant cylinder for charging.

Does the set also fit R1234yf?

No. The set is designed for systems with R134a. R1234yf has different service ports and must not be mixed with R134a – it requires its own couplers and a separate service unit. Call us if you are unsure which refrigerant your vehicles carry.

What is the sight glass for?

The sight glass shows the refrigerant flowing past. Bubbles are a clear sign of too little refrigerant in the system. A clear picture without bubbles suggests the charge is right – together with the pressure readings that gives a quick first verdict.

Which hoses are included?

Three, each 1.5 metres: blue for low pressure, red for high pressure and yellow for the vacuum pump or refrigerant cylinder. The hoses are rated for 600 PSI working pressure and withstand 3,000 PSI burst pressure.

Do I need a certificate of competence?

For work on air conditioning systems with fluorinated refrigerants, yes – EU Regulation 517/2014 requires it. Refrigerant must also not be released into the atmosphere. The set is intended for specialist businesses and certified users. Call us if you have questions.
