The LAUNCH X431 CRP919E BT is a standalone diagnostic tablet for daily work in the independent workshop. It reads every control unit fitted, not just the engine: ABS, airbag, transmission, body, comfort electronics and driver assistance. Fault codes are shown in plain text, cleared, and backed up with live data and freeze frame values.
The supplied DBScar VII VCI plugs into the vehicle’s OBD2 socket and sends the data to the tablet over Bluetooth. That lets you move freely around the vehicle – during an active test of a fan, pump or window regulator, for example, while you watch the component react.
CAN FD and DoIP – why this matters today
Many newer vehicles no longer communicate over the classic CAN bus. CAN FD carries more data per message, and DoIP (Diagnostics over Internet Protocol) runs over Ethernet and is many times faster. Tools without these protocols simply get no connection on such vehicles. The CRP919E BT handles both – among others for BMW F and G chassis, Volvo from 2018, Jaguar and Land Rover from 2017 and General Motors from 2020.
ECU coding – which brands are supported
Coding is done offline, that is directly at the control unit in the vehicle – the tool does not offer online coding via the vehicle manufacturer’s server. The following brands are supported:
- VW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Land Rover, Jaguar, Porsche, Toyota
For all other brands coding is therefore not available. Even within the brands listed, the actual scope depends on the model, year and control unit – check the intended coding job in advance using the VIN, or give us a call and we will clarify it together.
What works across brands
- Bi-directional control (active test): switch fans, pumps, window regulators and other components on demand
- Component adaptation: teach in new control units, write the VIN, adapt replacement parts to the vehicle
- Adjustments such as tyre size or battery capacity after a replacement
- Transmission adaptation and relearn after a repair
Here too the range of functions depends on the brand.
31 service functions
ABS bleeding, TPMS reset, Oil service reset, Throttle body adaptation, Injector coding, Steering angle sensor reset, Brake pad reset, Gear learning, Immobiliser (IMMO), Battery registration, DPF regeneration, EGR adaptation, Suspension adaptation, NOx sensor reset, Tyre reset, Window calibration, Stop-start reset, Air conditioning initialisation, AdBlue reset, Cornering light reset, Lambda reset, Gearbox reset, Coolant bleeding, Transport mode reset, Seat calibration, High voltage battery check, Sunroof initialisation, Engine power balance, Language change, Gasoline particulate filter (GPF) regeneration, Adaptive cruise control reset.
Important note on vehicle coverage
The figure „over 115 vehicle brands“ describes the total scope the tool can cover across all supported brands – it does not mean that every brand, model and function is automatically supported in full. Which vehicles and functions are actually available always depends on the manufacturer, model, year and control unit. The 2 years of free updates make sure coverage keeps growing and new models are added continuously.
