Description

Scania 16 Pin OBD1 to OBD2 adapter cable for commercial vehicle diagnostics

  • ✔ Precisely fitting adapter from the round 16-pin Scania diagnostic port to 16-pin OBD2
  • ✔ Stable signal transfer for reliable diagnostic work on commercial vehicles
  • ✔ Sturdy plug connections for daily workshop use
  • ✔ Hard-wearing cable sheath for tough commercial vehicle use
  • ✔ Equally suitable for professional workshops and private users

The adapter cable connects the manufacturer-specific round 16-pin Scania diagnostic port to the standard 16-pin OBD2 socket of your diagnostic device. Existing workshop devices, diagnostic interfaces and OBD2 adapters therefore remain usable.

This item is an adapter or connecting cable, not a diagnostic device or scanner. The actual diagnostic function depends on the diagnostic device used and the scope of its software.

Why the Scania port needs an adapter

Older Scania commercial vehicles have a round 16-pin diagnostic connector instead of the flat OBD2 socket. It does have 16 contacts as well, but a completely different shape – a standard OBD2 plug does not fit there. The adapter cable creates the physical link between vehicle and diagnostic hardware and ensures a firm, wobble-free fit.

Clean signal transfer for reliable diagnostic data

In diagnostic work the quality of the plug connection decides whether communication stays stable. Low-quality adapters cause dropped signals and communication errors. This adapter cable is built with solid plug contacts and a robust cable structure.

Robust build for workshop and everyday use

  • Hard-wearing cable sheath
  • Precisely manufactured plug connections
  • Firm fit without unnecessary play
  • High contact quality to avoid transfer errors

Compatibility

The adapter cable suits Scania commercial vehicles with a round 16-pin diagnostic port and diagnostic devices with a 16-pin OBD2 connection.

  • Vehicle side: round 16-pin Scania diagnostic connector
  • Tool side: 16-pin OBD2 socket
  • Suitable for: OBD2 handheld scanners, workshop diagnostic devices, USB and Bluetooth diagnostic interfaces

Compatibility depends on the vehicle and on the diagnostic device. Before buying, please check whether your vehicle has the corresponding diagnostic port and whether your diagnostic device supports the relevant control units.

Important note on function

The adapter cable itself performs no diagnostics. Functions such as reading fault codes, communicating with control units or analysing data are provided exclusively by the connected diagnostic device and its software.

Shipping and payment terms

FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE EU ON ORDERS OVER €100!!

Goods are regularly delivered by shipping to the delivery address provided by the customer. The delivery address provided by the customer during the ordering process is decisive for the transaction. Deviating from this, if PayPal is selected as the payment method, the delivery address stored by the customer with PayPal at the time of payment is decisive.

If delivery to the customer was not possible and the shipping company returns the shipped goods to the seller, the customer bears the costs for the unsuccessful shipment. This does not apply if the customer exercises their right of withdrawal by refusing acceptance, if they are not responsible for the circumstance that led to the impossibility of delivery, or if they were temporarily prevented from accepting, unless the seller announced the service to them a reasonable time in advance.

You can choose to pay by bank transfer (prepayment), PayPal (direct debit and credit card via PayPal), Klarna (purchase on account or installment payment), Shop Pay, Google Pay or cash on delivery. If cash on delivery is selected as the payment method, an additional fee of €9.99 will be charged.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I need an adapter for Scania?

On many commercial vehicles the diagnostic port has 12 pins and is therefore not compatible with the standard 16-pin OBD2 plug. Only the adapter makes it possible to connect a standard diagnostic device.

Can I connect any diagnostic device with it?

Mechanically, any device with a 16-pin OBD2 plug fits. Whether the commercial vehicle control units can also be read depends on the device and its software – not every OBD2 system supports trucks.

How do I know whether the cable fits?

What matters is the connector type in the vehicle, not the model. If the diagnostic socket is 12-pin, the adapter cable fits.

Is the cable itself a diagnostic device?

No. It is a connecting cable and performs no diagnostics itself. Which functions are available depends solely on the diagnostic device used and its software.
