Description
Description
The Thinkcar CE EVC 201 is an insulation resistance tester (megohmmeter) for testing high-voltage components on electric and hybrid vehicles. It measures the insulation resistance between live parts and the housing – for example on drive motors, high-voltage batteries, HV cables, high-voltage switches and transformers. A robust measuring instrument in workshop quality for independent workshops and commercial users.
- ✔ Test voltages of 500 V and 1000 V, insulation resistance up to 40 GΩ
- ✔ AC and DC voltage measurement up to 600 V
- ✔ Continuous, timed and comparison test with PASS/FAIL display
- ✔ Automatic calculation of dielectric absorption ratio and polarisation index
- ✔ Standalone instrument with large LCD and integrated battery
- ✔ Purchase on account available (Klarna or PayPal)
Insulation testing on high-voltage components
Insulation testing is one of the most important safety checks when servicing electric vehicles: ageing or damaged insulation is detected early, before it becomes a risk to workshop staff or the vehicle. The EVC 201 uses a powerful processor, is resistant to interference and automatically calculates the dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) and polarisation index (PI).
Measuring modes for every test task
- Continuous test: continuous measurement of insulation resistance (default after switching on)
- Timed test: test duration adjustable from 10 seconds to 15 minutes, ends automatically
- Comparison test: limit selectable from 10 MΩ, result shown as PASS or FAIL
- Voltage measurement: DC and AC voltage up to 600 V via the MODE key
Verification with reference resistor
A standard resistor (200 MΩ) integrated in the device is used to verify and calibrate the instrument – so measuring accuracy can be checked in the workshop at any time.
Safety
According to the manufacturer’s manual, the device is designed to the safety requirements of IEC 61010 for electronic measuring instruments; the measuring inputs are marked CAT II 600 V. Voltages above 600 V must not be measured. Before every insulation test, the circuit under test must be de-energised, discharged and isolated from the power supply.

Shipping and payment terms
Shipping and payment terms
Free shipping from €50 (Germany) – within the EU from €100
Delivery
Delivery is made to the delivery address provided by the customer during the ordering process. By way of exception, where PayPal is selected as the payment method, the delivery address stored with PayPal at the time of payment is decisive.
If delivery to the customer was not possible and the transport company returns the goods to the seller, the customer bears the costs of the unsuccessful delivery. This does not apply where the customer exercises their right of withdrawal by refusing acceptance, where they are not responsible for the circumstance that made delivery impossible, or where they were temporarily prevented from accepting the goods – unless the seller had given them reasonable advance notice of the delivery.
Shipping costs
- Germany: free from an order value of €50, below that €3.99
- European Union: free from an order value of €100, below that €14.99
- Switzerland: €20.00
- United Kingdom: GBP 20.00
Delivery area and delivery time
We deliver to Germany, to the 26 other countries of the European Union and to Switzerland and the United Kingdom. We are currently unable to deliver to other countries.
